Ho Tram - Long Thành International Airport Urban Expressway Project Officially Commences

This morning (July 1), Ho Chi Minh City kicked off the construction of 8 key projects and works to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Saigon - Gia Dinh City officially being honored to bear the name of President Ho Chi Minh (July 2, 1976 - July 2, 2026), including the Ho Tram - Long Thanh International Airport urban expressway project.

The starting point of the route connects with Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road 4 and DT.991 in Tan Thanh Ward. According to the investment policy approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council on June 19, the total investment for the project is approximately VND 46,918 billion. It will be implemented under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model through a Build-Transfer (BT) contract, with execution scheduled for the 2026-2029 period.

The expressway is expected to span approximately 42 km, featuring 6 full expressway lanes and a system of parallel frontage roads on both sides. The design speed for the main route is 100 km/h, while the parallel roads are designed for 60 km/h.

The project is developed by Masterise Long Thanh - Ho Tram Expressway Infrastructure JSC, a member of Masterise Group.

Pictured is the intersection with National Highway 56, passing through the former Chau Duc District area after the expressway route traverses Da Den Lake and the Binh Ba rubber plantation.

After passing through the former center of Chau Duc District, the Ho Tram - Long Thanh Airport expressway is projected to move toward a critical interchange connecting major arterial roads, including Binh Gia - Da Bac, DT992, DT996, and DH29F.

After crossing the 6-way intersection in Da Bac Commune, the expressway will continue extending toward Phuoc Buu Town in the former Xuyen Moc District. Here, the route will intersect with National Highway 55 and pass through the Binh Châu - Phuoc Buu Nature Reserve, one of the rare remaining coastal forest ecosystems in the Southeast region.

The termination point of the Ho Tram - Long Thanh Airport expressway directly connects with the Ho Chi Minh City - Lam Dong coastal road (DT994) and the provincial road DT999B.

According to the plan, the project consists of 2 component projects: Component Project 1 involves constructing and completing the interchange with DT.991 and Ring Road 4, stretching about 2.27 km; Component Project 2 focuses on constructing the remaining main route, spanning approximately 39.8 km.

This is an urban expressway directly linking Long Thanh Airport to the tourism and marine economic hubs of the Southeast region. It holds strategic significance in expanding Ho Chi Minh City's development space toward the sea, promoting the marine economy, tourism, and logistics, while strengthening the connectivity of the Southern Key Economic Zone.
